Vision 2030 Jamaica – Plan Development Unit/Secretariat
The Vision 2030 Jamaica – Plan Development Unit/Secretariat is housed within the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) which was mandated in 2006 by the Government of Jamaica to spearhead the preparation of a long-term national development plan. However, policy direction for development of the plan, dubbed Vision 2030 Jamaica was the responsibility of the Minister of Finance and Planning.
The PIOJ was integrally involved at all stages of the plan development process, providing technical, logistical and administrative support. These functions in addition to the monitoring and evaluation of the implementation processes were and are being coordinated and managed by the Plan Development Unit (PDU), office of the Director General of the PIOJ.

The PDU is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely implementation, monitoring, evaluation and communication of Vision 2030 Jamaica, and was at the centre of the efficient and timely development of the new planning model and plan preparation from 2006 to its completion in 2009 when it was tabled in Parliament. The Unit comprises a Programme Director; sector specialists for the areas of Economic Development; Social Development, and Sustainable Development; a Communications Specialist; Project/Administrative Assistant and Secretary; as well as a Plan Review Consultant, as required.
PIOJ Technical Staff
