ROAD TO 2030...
Vision 2030 Jamaica is pleased to present the first issue of the new Vision 2030 Jamaica Quarterly Newsletter titled, “Road to 2030…” at the Planning Institute of Jamaica. It covers the period between April 2016 and June 2016. Each newsletter will provide you with quarterly news and updates on activities and achievements as well as help you to better understand Vision 2030 Jamaica and participate in the plan implementation process. Jamaica is in the 8th year of this 21-year journey towards the planned achievement of developed country status by 2030. The journey officially began in May 2009 when then Prime Minister, the Honourable Orette “Bruce” Golding tabled in Parliament, Vision 2030 Jamaica – National Development Plan and the 1st of seven planned 3-year Medium Term Socio-Economic Policy Frameworks (MTF, 2009-2012). The Vision 2030 Jamaica Secretariat, Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) is charged with the responsibility to coordinate the implementation of the Plan. Every Jamaican has a role to play in the successful implementation of Vision 2030 Jamaica. Every Jamaican has a role to play in the successful implementation of Vision 2030 Jamaica. Where we are now and what must we do to achieve Vision 2030 Jamaica? These questions and more will be answered as together we journey along the ROAD TO 2030.
