In light of the impact of Hurricane Melissa and other recent global and national shocks, the Vision 2030 Jamaica Love Jamaica National Essay Competition allows Jamaicans across generations to reflect thoughtfully on Jamaica’s resilience, draw hope from lived experiences and propose ideas for building a stronger, more resilient Jamaica.

By focusing on the intersection of past hardships and future aspirations, the competition will provide the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) and Vision 2030 Jamaica with a rich tapestry of

perspectives on how to strengthen our “island home.”
