Vision 2030 Jamaica Secretariat

The Vision 2030 Jamaica Secretariat, located within the PIOJ, is the main mechanism for technical coordination and monitoring and evaluation of Vision 2030 Jamaica in the country. It is also responsible for reporting on the progress of implementation and the development impact on the country. In executing its mandate, the Secretariat:

  • plays a leading role in coordinating the efforts of public and private participants in the various Vision 2030 Jamaica processes.
  • leads the development of each Medium Term Socio-Economic Policy Framework (MTF) through a highly consultative and evidence-driven process; and supports stakeholders, including ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in aligning corporate and operational plans to the MTF.
  • integrates the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” and other key regional and global commitments in Vision 2030 Jamaica Plan Implementation, and particularly in each MTF.  
  • analyses and interprets social and economic data and information and appraises public and private sector programmes and activities based on goals and outcomes articulated in Vision 2030 Jamaica.
  • consolidates information submitted by sectoral and other interests into comprehensive reports on Vision 2030 Jamaica’s achievements/results.
  • conducts ongoing and systematic monitoring and reporting on the National Outcomes as well as maintains ongoing and frequent liaisons with sectoral focal points in MDAs.
  • provides impetus for the establishment and operation of Thematic Working Groups (TWGs).
